Hello, my beautiful subscribers! I am currently lying on my bed in Nashville, writing this post. The room is dark and cool, while outside, the summer heat smiles big. Although I grew up in California, my father moved to Nashville after my beloved mother passed in 2003. So, Nashville became my new home, because wherever my Dad is, that is home. My kids are in the very popular TV room, which we affectionately call the Blue Room. My father has had the same blue light on behind the television for as long as I can remember, so it is the blue room. They are curled up together on the cozy chairs watching a movie with their Papa Swan. Life is good.
My father bought a Wurlitzer and it arrived today, needless to say, he was very excited. He said he wanted it in front of his bed so he could write before bed. He said, “I got a lot of melodies up here,” pointing to his head. He is the cutest human on earth. In the video above, you can see how giddy he is about this new purchase. Bless his heart.
I have a couple of announcements. Firstly, I am going to do a live tomorrow at 1 pm CST; maybe I'll play you a song? Secondly, my interview with the incredible Jessica Von Rabbit will be on Wednesday at 4 pm PST. Please join us!
Jessica Von Rabbit is the former frontwoman of the iconic Joshua Tree act Gram Rabbit. These days, she releases music on her own, and I have always admired her.
She is unique, brave and just fucking cool. I really can’t wait to crawl into this woman’s brain. I know it is incredible in there, so please join our chat on Wednesday at 4 pm PST.
Here is a great photo of my Dad, Kris Kristofferson, and Donnie Fritts playing at the Bitter End in New York in 1970. It was their third show together. The second show was at The Troubadour in Los Angeles. My Dad does not recall where or when the first show was.
Remember, tomorrow I will be hopping on here to hang out for a bit around 1 pm CST, my Dad will pop in as well! Come hang out if you can.
